Linksys WRT54G setup

Linksys WRT54G Setup involves two phases and can be configured as New Extender Setup. First, plug all the cables in to get your wired Ethernet connections up and running. Then, use the web-based router app to set up Wi-Fi to allow wireless Internet access for your laptops and mobile devices.

1: Link to the modem

Attach the Ethernet cable from your cable or DSL modem to the router’s Internet port.

2: Link to your computers

Link one or more computers to the router’s Ethernet ports, numbered 1 through 4. The order doesn’t matter; all four ports are operating the same way.

3: Attach it to Power

Plug in the power adapter of the router and wait a few minutes until the machine begins. You’ve got Internet access on your wired machines.

1: Log-in

Visit the web address 192.168.1.1 in any web browser connected to the router. Sign in with the admin password, leaving the user name blank. If this doesn’t function, enter admin in both the user name and password fields. Continue the Linksys WRT54G Setup.

3: Name of the network

Choose the name — SSID — for your wireless network. You can see a name for anyone within your router radius, so don’t add any private details. Leave the remainder of the options to their defaults. Click Save Settings, and then click Continue.

4: Set protection 

Open the Security Wireless tab. Set the protection mode to WPA2 Personal and enter a password of at least eight characters in the Passphrase or WPA Shared Key fields. Press Save Settings and your wireless network is ready to use.

Linksys WRT54G Setup is successfully completed. Apart from the Linksys Router Setup, you can also have your Linksys Extender Setup.
